TBC Announces Streaming Video

July 31st, 2008

TBC is pleased to announce that we are now able to save our clients even more money. The recent downturn in the economy is taking its toll on all of us. Air-travel is becoming more expensive and carriers are cutting service. TBC has developed a low cost alternative to these travel expenses by way of video conferencing. We can provide our clients with a secure video stream that can be accessed by any number of attorneys, clients, corporate representatives, etc.. Participants can interact via web cam, V.O.I.P., telephone, or just instant message from anywhere in the world! Even more impressive, this video conference system is totally portable. This makes it possible for TBC to videotape any deposition, from any location and simultaneously stream the video to any number of end-users. The only requirement is access to a high-speed internet connection.

This technology can be used in a variety of different ways. Perhaps you want to meet with your expert who lives 3000 miles away. Rather than one of you having to waste time and money travelling to meet with one another, we can provide a face-to-face meeting over the internet. All you would need is access to a USB web cam that can be provided by you or by TBC. If your expert has prepared a powerpoint presentation, we can offer the ability to view and even take control of your experts computer screen, allowing you to edit and make changes to the presentation.

TBC can customize a videoconferencing package that will meet your every need and save you time and money. For more information, or to request a live demonstration, contact Brian Bennett at 816-221-3376.

TBC Video to Attend MATA Conference

May 28th, 2008

We are pleased to announce that we will be one of the exhibitors at the MATA (Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys) conference this June. This will be our first time attending this event and we are anticipating a good turnout. Our booth will be primarily focused on our trial support services, which we believe are unrivaled in the state. We are also working with Robb and Robb to create a trial demonstration DVD which will be shown to attendees of the conference.

Be sure to stop by our booth and say hello. We always welcome the opportunity to work with new clients. Hope to see you all at the Four Seasons.

Duplication Formats Available

February 20th, 2008
Here at TBC, we pride ourselves on offering more duplication formats than any other company in Kansas City. We can provide copies in virtually any format that our clients require. The following is a detailed explanation of the most common duplication formats that we provide.

  • CDs and DVDs
    • CDs and DVDs are simply storage devices. A CD will hold 700 megabytes of information while a DVD will hold 4.7 gigabytes. In other words, DVDs can hold the same amount of information that will fit on roughly 7 CDs. This is analogous to paper file cabinets. Where a CD might hold one drawer of documents, a DVD might hold an entire file cabinet. Additionally, video files on CD and DVD are too large to send via e-mail.
  • Mpeg1
    • Mpeg1 is a file compression. What this means is when we digitize our Mini-DV tapes we are compressing a file to make it smaller. Mpeg1 compression provides a digital file that is compressed to near VHS quality. It was designed with file size in mind and was created when most computers did not have DVD drives. Mpeg1 is the most compatible format and can be burned onto either a CD or DVD.
  • Mpeg2
    • Like mpeg1, mpeg2 is a file compression. Mpeg2 compression is broadcast quality digital video that is compressed significantly less than mpeg1. Mpeg2 files are too large to fit on CDs. Mpeg2 DVDs will playback in most standalone, set-top DVD players, as well as some computers. When we produce edited DVDs for playback in trial this is the format we use.
  • Mpeg1 with Synchronized Text
    • Mpeg1 with synchronized text is the video file that has been compressed using mpeg1 file compression. The video is then synchronized with the court reporters transcript text. Once the video has been synchronized, copies are provided to the attorneys with YesEdit software included on the disc. These are burned on DVD unless the attorney specifically requests to have it on CD. When they are burned onto DVDs, they are burned at a 7:1 ratio. In other words, 7 video hours will be represented with one DVD disc. This type of copy is the most versatile for the attorneys.

High Definition In The Courtroom

January 3rd, 2008

With high definition technology becoming more and more affordable, it will not be long before it is utilized in the courtroom. And why shouldn’t it be? For cases where it is important for the jury to be able to visualize a particular location, object, or person that cannot be brought into the courtroom, high definition video just makes sense. Accident scenes and inspections can be shown in vivid detail, making it easier for the jury to understand what is being shown to them. When you are presenting high definition video and opposing counsel is showing grainy photographs, the jury appreciates your presentation.

If you would to like to utilize the power of high definition video in your next case, TBC Video would love to help. Our highly trained trial technicians are ready to help you bring high definition video into the courtroom. Contact us at 816-221-DEPO, 816-221-3376.

Complete Litigation Support

December 7th, 2007

As the demand for technology in the courtroom increases, it is becoming more and more difficult for small to mid-size law firms to compete. Where large firms can afford in-house trial support staff, smaller firms struggle to find affordable, competent outside vendors that can help them present their case.

This is where TBC Video of Kansas City comes in. We offer complete litigation support services that meet the needs of all law firms, regardless of size. For larger, more complicated cases, we can provide electronic discovery services through our partner Alphalitigator, LLC. Electronic Discovery includes coding documents of all file types (e-mails, word docs, excel spreadsheets, etc.) and producing the documents in a fully-searchable format that is easily accessible.

TBC is the largest legal video company in Kansas City, with eight full-time videographers. We have been providing video services throughout the Midwest since 1988. In that time, we have videotaped nearly 20,000 depositions. We are also a full-scale video production house, offering videotaping and editing services in both standard and high definition (HD). Day-in-the-life, focus groups, settlement brochures, we do it all. Our trial support services are unmatched in the industry. We can offer clients a multitude of trial support packages; from something as simplistic as an elmo presenter, to multiple monitor, computer-assisted courtroom setups. We can provide Sanction certified trial technicians with a minimum of four years experience handling complex litigation.

So whether you need help with a multi-million dollar contract case or simply need to have a doctor depo videotaped, give TBC a call at 816-221-3376. Let us show you why we are the best in the business.
